Changing course slightly--or maybe just adding an alternative route to the map--interactive online video 
solutions provider Veeple is introducing a free API to give online marketers and content owners access to Veeple's interactivity and analytics without having to migrate from an existing video platforms.
"Veeple interPlay" allows users who already are committed to a hosting site, like thePlatform or JW Player, to use Veeple's tools, like actionable social networking icons, the ability to insert Word, PowerPoint and PDFs into a video and make objects within the video interactive. The interPlay API also gives users access to Veeple's analytics.
"Three months ago we decided to take two of the pieces of our business, interactivity and intelligence, and break them off from our branded player," Veeple CEO Scoot Broomfield told FierceOnlineVideo. "We decided to bundle it in a creative way."
A public Beta version will be available Nov. 3, and users can bolt it on or use it as a plug in free for 30 days. After that, the analytics suite will be subscription based.
