Vimeo OTT platform to serve as engine behind Jillian Michaels’ FitFusion service

Vimeo’s VHX OTT platform has been selected by FitFusion, a popular streaming fitness workout platform created by health and wellness expert Jillian Michaels as the foundation for its streaming fitness service, validating its service with a household name brand customer.

Under the terms of the multiyear deal, FitFusion has been relaunched, via Vimeo’s VHX product. It is now available on iOS and Android devices, as well as AppleTV, AndroidTV, Roku, Chromecast and Amazon FireTV.

FitFusion is what could be described as a virtual one-stop-shop for on-demand streaming premium workouts from well-known trainers and brands. It offers a wide-ranging variety of workouts, from full body strength and cardio with Michaels, to yoga, Pilates, barre or dance-cardio.

One of the new features of the relaunch is a Lifestyle channel featuring noninstructional content including documentary film titles like Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead and Yogawoman. By leveraging Vimeo’s OTT services, FitFusion users can train anywhere, anytime via TV, computer, smartphone or tablet through their VHX-powered app.

“Partnering with Vimeo's platform will allow FitFusion to continue focusing on expanding the content offering while ensuring a stable multiplatform experience for our consumers,” said Giancarlo Chersich, CEO and co-founder of FitFusion, in a press release.

As part of the relaunch, FitFusion migrated over 350 titles, totaling over 300 hours of content through Vimeo’s OTT services. Customers can subscribe to FitFusion at $9.99 per month online or via the FitFusion app.

Being able to land FitFusion as a customer also provides Vimeo with another proof point that its acquisition of VHX, which it completed last year, was an investment in a platform that is resonating with the OTT community.
