Why it's Fierce: Digitalsmiths provides studio-grade digital media analysis, operations and publishing solutions with a time-based metadata framework. It helps digital media companies distribute premium video content across multiple platforms, opening revenue streams for film and TV assets, and helps build audience. Its flagship product, VideoSense, powers the digital media operations, publishing and analytics for Hollywood studios, broadcasters, distributors and publishers including Warner Bros., Telepictures and TMZ.com, The Ellen Show, and The Tyra Banks show.
Digitalsmiths recently announced it was "TV Everywhere" ready and also just recently announced a new division in the company called Digitalsmiths Labs. The company is in a growth mode and has hired some additional top management to help it expand without going over too many bumps.
The cool factor? Digitalsmiths Labs has sharpened its proprietary facial recognition and scene classification technologies, making these capabilities even more accurate and capable of automatically tagging information more quickly.
