Verizon: I had to choose either Verizon or AT&T, but was determined not to choose both. Verizon is still the lead dog in the U.S. telco TV market, and is poised for increasingly competitive market battles with the country's top cable TV operators. Verizon also has helped stretch the definition of IPTV by using aspects of the technology to enable TV widgets and other innovations. Now, Verizon faces the prospect of slowing subscriber gains. How will it answer, with new features, new competitive forays further into the MDU market, or something else? With Net neutrality, Verizon may have a bigger fish to fry in the short term than worrying about its next TV move.
