Dazn adds first linear channel with Red Bull TV

Dazn, a sports focused streaming service, has added its first linear channel to the platform’s content lineup with a deal to stream Red Bull TV.

Dazn inked a multi-year distribution agreement with Red Bull Media House, announced Wednesday, to stream the linear channel on its service globally. Dazn offers programing across more than 200 countries and territories.

The deal expands Dazn’s content to live extreme sports, including coverage of the Crankworx World Tour, Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series and the Drift Masters European championship.

The first live broadcast event is slated for Sunday May 8, streaming the Wings for Life World Run.

In addition to live sports events, Dazn is also serving up select Red Bull original documentaries, highlights and archive programming.  What airs will vary across markets, but some docu-series include “Driving Dirty: The Road to Baja” and “Red Bull Soundwave”. Where available Dazn will also offer local language programming from Red Bull TV in its core markets.

“DAZN is fast becoming a home of true entertainment for the world’s most innovative and compelling sports,” said Tom Burrows, Dazn EVP of Rights, in a statement. “Red Bull has a fantastic reputation for showcasing thrilling live events and captivating sporting stories that capture the imagination of fans around the world. We’re delighted to bring Red Bull TV and its programming to DAZN on a global scale.”

Dazn’s live sports programming and original content includes UEFA champions League, UEFA Women’s Champions, Bundesliga, LaLiga, Serie A, J.League, and Matchroom Boxing.

Dazn charges $19.99 per month for a subscription and offers pay-per-view options. It scaled to reach more than 200 countries around the world in 2020.
