FuboTV taps Lynette Kaylor to head ad sales strategy

FuboTV has hired Lynette Kaylor as SVP of advertising sales – effective August 22 – as part of the company's efforts to widen its ad strategy.

In her new role, Kaylor will spearhead fuboTV’s North American sales strategy and ad operations. Reporting directly to CEO David Gandler, she is tasked with expanding key advertiser relationships, increasing FuboTV’s direct and programmatic ad business as well as effectively monetizing the company’s connected TV ad inventory.

FuboTV has highlighted the importance of ad inventory in its business model. The virtual MVPD reported $21.7 million in revenue for the second quarter – bolstered by FuboTV’s growing inventory of free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels.

“Lynette’s agency background is the perfect fit with Fubo’s entrepreneurial culture while her programmatic experience will help grow our addressable advertising strategy,” Gandler said in a statement. “I am looking forward to Lynette helping Fubo build a world-class ad sales business that delivers data-driven precision targeting to brands across our robust streaming platform.”

Kaylor is a veteran of the sales and business development sector, most recently serving as SVP of media and publisher solutions at ad tech company Merkury. There, she worked with premium media owners, publishers and technology platforms across various mediums like digital, TV and OTT.

Prior to her role at Merkury, Kaylor was director of digital partnerships at V12 Data, a data provider and marketing technology firm. Most notably, she succeeded at closing V12 Group’s first Fortune 100 platform partnership, which provided a cross-channel marketing platform to over 75 direct-to-consumer markets, her LinkedIn profile shows.

"FuboTV's extensive lineup of sports, news and entertainment content presents a wealth of opportunity for brands to reach audiences in a live CTV environment where viewers are highly engaged," Kaylor noted in a statement. "I believe in Fubo's mission to create an interactive entertainment experience that positions the company to appeal to sports fans and advertisers alike.”

Though FuboTV said it’s foregoing plans to go it alone at integrating its sports betting service with its streaming platform, the company is still expanding its sports betting slate. FuboTV last week added the sports betting-focused SportsGrid network to its TV lineup.

And Kaylor is only fuboTV’s latest executive hire. The company in June appointed Ben Grad, Todd Mathers and Andrew Steinberg to head content strategy, partnerships and business development for the platform.
