Hulu’s updated live TV guide shows up on Apple TV, Roku devices

Hulu is expanding access to its updated live TV grid guide, and rolling out the feature to its live TV subscribers using Apple TV and Roku devices.

The updates include access to a two-week grid guide that lets viewers see what’s ahead and set content to record. It also lets users add favorite channels to the “My Channels” section, access live TV right from the Home screen and browse live content collections like sports, news, movies and kids content.

The updated guide is also available on Hulu.com and the company said that it will add support for other devices. Hulu with Live TV is currently supported on Hulu.com, Roku, tvOS, Amazon Fire TV devices, Echo Show, Xbox One, iOS and Android mobile devices, select Android TVs, Nintendo Switch, select LG and Samsung TVs, Vizio SmartCast TVs, Windows 10 and Chromecast.

Hulu recently revealed that it has approximately 28 million paid subscribers, but the company does not break out subscriber totals for its live TV service. Disney CFO Christine McCarthy said during the company’s most recent earnings call that Hulu with Live TV grew more than any other virtual MVPD during the second quarter.

In its most recent Cord-Cutting Monitor, media analyst firm MoffettNathanson estimated that Hulu with Live TV had 2.1 million subscribers at the beginning of the second quarter and ended with 2.4 million.
