AT&T testing DOCSIS backhaul solutions with cable providers

AT&T (NYSE: T) is working with a number of cable companies to test DOCSIS backhaul solutions, despite having some misgivings about cable's small-cells-as-a-service model being a viable business. According to a Light Reading report, Gordon Mansfield, AVP of Small Cell Solutions for AT&T, said the carrier is looking at ways to lease existing backhaul capacity to cable providers. AT&T is still testing various use cases, Mansfield told Light Reading, but is in the deployment phase. You can read the full report here.
