Babelgum does a raft of content deals

Babel Networks snagged 30 new content deals for Babelgum, its IPTV service. The Dublin, Ireland startup signed on the likes of Reuters, Associated Press, the BBC, a Spike Lee property and two dozen other channels either obscure or not so well known on this side of the pond. The deals nail down about 100,000 hours of material.

Babel Networks also recently appointed former Vodafone executive Valerio Zingarelli as CEO. The company started accepting content last March and last month joined the parade of IP video variants in beta, including Veoh TV, Joost and LiveStation.
