Broadcast news down, cable up says PEJ

You might have noticed that broadcasters aren't holding cable systems hostage because of news products. Perhaps that's because "local news is now losing audience at an accelerating rate across all day parts," according to Project for Excellence in Journalism director Tom Rosenthal.

The recently released PEJ 2010 State of the News Media report contains that nugget and more, including the fact that the only sector in any media that had an up year last year was cable and in that sector it was Fox--yes Fox News--that achieved the biggest growth.
