'Hot' technologies are rarely glamorous, always exciting

Unlike the entertainment world, a technology doesn't have to be glamorous to be hot. That goes a long way towards explaining why FierceTelecom editor Sean Buckley's list of the "top 10 hottest wireline technologies in 2013" is peppered with terms like Carrier Ethernet and VDSL2.
