IPDR.org launches standards event for IPTV

From the folks that brought you standards and measurement tools for the VoIP industry, the Internet Protocol Detail Record Organization is now pushing for a standardization process for IPTV. They specifically want to initiate talks about accounting and settlement standards for IPTV. The charge is led by IPDR group member Cisco Systems, which is fresh from acquisition negotiations after its recent purchase of IPTV player Scientific-Atlanta. Others in the group include BSG Clearing Solutions, Amdocs, Hewlett-Packard, Narus, Rogers Wireless, Sprint and VeriSign. Ah yes, everyone's got standards ideas. As some analysts have pointed out, this seems a bit redundant considering ATIS' work.
