Netflix still has an exclusive streaming deal with Relativity Media but a judge says the SVOD giant won't be able to stream two of the studio's films ahead of their theatrical releases.
Bankruptcy Court Judge Michael Wiles said that releasing two upcoming movies, Masterminds, starring Zach Galifianakis and Kristen Wiig, and The Disappointments Room, starring Kate Beckinsale, are crucial to Relativity's future success as the company emerges from Chapter 11. Therefore, Netflix won't be allowed to jeopardize potential revenue for either film by streaming them before they hit the big screen.
