Verivue launches new CDN solution for service providers

Digital content delivery specialist Verivue today launched OneVantage, a fully integrated suite of CDN software elements that enables service providers to rapidly deploy new CDN services without the time and expense associated with developing proprietary solutions.

OneVantage emphasises whole site delivery and includes all the components needed to operate a competitive multi-tenant CDN network, including a high performance cache, a content router for dynamic cache selection and a full management and analytics suite.

The platform allows operators to deploy one infrastructure in support of a wide range of content, from live and on-demand streaming video to conventional HTML, thumbnail images, JavaScript and other small objects found on e-commerce and social networking websites.

The company also announced a customer win, Poland's largest telecoms provider, TP Group, has deployed OneVantage CDN platform to build a country-wide CDN. The initial CDN service rollout featured live streaming of several major events across Poland, capturing the largest online audiences in Polish history. TP Group is leveraging the same CDN infrastructure to offer scalable, low-cost delivery services to Poland's largest content providers.

"This really is the culmination of our acquisition of CoBlitz last year," Verivue CEO Jim Dolce told FierceIPTV. The acquisition of CoBlitz brought Verivue a boatload of intellectual property in the area of content delivery, he said.

"We've consolidated the two technology portfolios and created an extensible and completely integrated platform" that expands Verivue's served market beyond managed video networks to include "Over-the-Top" video services and other rich interactive content as well.

Dolce said OneVantage features five targeted solutions including:

*Bandwidth optimization made possible by transparent caching technology replicating rich media content at the network's edge, helping network operators manage dramatic increases in OTT traffic volume which increasingly are problematic for Tier 2 operators who need to buy transit capacity.

*Verivue's unified CDN approach blends IP delivered content with legacy set-top based services into a consistent video entertainment experience on multiple screens for consumers.

*All the components needed to build and operate a competitive, multi-tenant CDN network for both retail and wholesale CDN services.

When embedded into the mobile network, access to popular content is moved closer to the subscriber, improving utilization of existing network resources while providing improved quality customer experience.

By integrating a CDN into the front end of a Cloud IaaS offering, operators can offer their customers a superior service experience that alters the competitive landscape

Dolce said wrapping all five solutions together as a packages is unique in the space, something that he believes will be a strong differentiator for the company.
