Verizon, thePlatform team up on new IP video solution

In a rare case of collaboration between communications-industry giants, Verizon Digital Media Services and Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCSA) subsidiary thePlatform have announced a strategic alliance to create an end-to-end IP video solution. The product combines Verizon's (NYSE: VZ) video process and distribution technology with thePlatform's mpx video management system and is already being deployed with several customers.
