Facebook adds Miramax to list of Hollywood studio friends

Facebook has friended yet another movie studio as it continues to push into the online video space.

The social networking giant has signed a deal with Miramax to stream movies to its users. It's the third deal the company has made in recent months.

Facebook has deals with Warner Bros. and Universal Pictures to stream movies and also has added some classic TV fare in recent months.

The Facebook app is still in beta.

ComScore said Facebook saw the third most unique viewers watching online video, some 51.5 million, behind only Google (158.1 million) and music video site Vevo (62.1 million). It remains ahead of Microsoft, Viacom, Yahoo, AOL, Turner. Hulu and NBCUniversal.

Miramax has licensed 20 titles to Facebook in the U.S., incuding Pulp Fiction, Good Will Hunting, Chicago and Kill Bill, among others. It has also licensed 10 movies to Facebook in both the U.K. and Turkey. In the U.S., users wil be charged 30 Facebook credits, or $3.
