Hulu names NBC veteran Peter Naylor to top ad sales post

A veteran NBC sales executive will lead Hulu's ad efforts, Hulu said Monday. Peter Naylor, who had held a post as executive vice president of ad sales for NBC News Digital, is joining the site as senior vice president of sales. NBC parent Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) is a part-owner of Hulu.

The hire comes after several months during which most Hulu-related personnel news had to do with executives leaving the company. After former CEO Jason Kilar left the company, a series of executive departures followed. With Naylor, Hulu is getting a veteran digital sales executive with ties to one of its corporate parents.

He'll inherit a Hulu ad sales operation that boasts more than 1,000 advertisers, according to a memo Hulu CEO Mike Hopkins sent to the company's staff and posted to its blog. While at NBC, Naylor helped line up some of Hulu's first sponsors, Hopkins wrote.
