Watch live PGA Championship action on iPhones

With the PGA Championship just around the corner (Aug. 12-15 at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin), fans hoping to keep abreast of the action have a variety of ways to keep track of their favorite golfers.

Turner Sports is offering 20 hours of coverage on TNT and some 3D coverage online, as well as extensive online video offerings at PGA.com and with the latest addition to Apple's App Store, a free updated application for the iPhone and iPod Touch that will give them access to live scoring and news updates. For $1.99, users also can get video of the top groups during the entire tournament, including live streaming from all the par 3s, where they can watch Tiger Woods (will he still be sporting that new goatee?), Phil Mikelson and Rory McIlroy chase birdies.

"PGA.com continues to raise the bar of its interactive coverage of the PGA Championship with the enhanced PGA Championship App for iPhone and iPod touch," said Matthew Hong, senior vice president and general manager, sports operations for Turner Sports. "The PGA Championship App provides on-the-go fans with the ultimate extension to their viewing experience with live access, instant updates and instructional insight from PGA Professionals."

App users can see an assortment of video highlights from the day's action, watch round recaps and interviews, as well as create a customized leaderboard, check out tee times, and more.
