YuMe, Ooyala partner on one-step ad solution

White label online video platform Ooyala today announced a partnership with video advertising technology company YuMe that will allow Ooyala customers to tap directly into the YuMe ACE for Publishers ad management platform, creating an easy-to-use turnkey monetization service.

With the online video space heating up, and advertising revenues from over-the-top content forecast to increase to $13.3 billion by 2016 (see related story), the solution provides content owners with a tool for video monetization and the ability to scale and enhance their ad operations as their business grows.

Prior to the integration, publishers were required to sign-up with YuMe in order for Ooyala to allow them to use YuMe ad inventory. The deal immediately makes YuMe advertising inventory available to all Ooyala customers with professional or enterprise accounts.

YuMe has partnered with Ooyala before, in November 2009 launching a program for the OVP's customers with premium content that allows them to manually insert YuMe ad overlays at points they select when publishing live streams.

"The partnership between YuMe and Ooyala has already provided important benefits for our shared customers, and with the explosion of video viewership we wanted to give publishers access to more advertising inventory to easily monetize all of their traffic--independent of where it comes from," said Bismarck Lepe, Ooyala president of products and co-founder. "YuMe's deep technology and successful execution made them the perfect choice to launch our yield optimization service."
