October 20
AT&T U-verse (NYSE: T)
AT&T's third-quarter wireline results were highlighted by the first sequential growth in wireline revenues in more than four years. AT&T U-verse TV added 176,000 subscribers to reach 3.6 million in service. In the third quarter, the AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet attach rate was 90 percent and about half of new subscribers took AT&T U-verse Voice. U-verse revenues grew 50.1 percent compared with the year-ago third quarter and were up 6.0 percent versus the second quarter of 2011. Increased AT&T U-verse penetration and a significant number of subscribers on triple- or quad-play options drove 19.6 percent year-over-year growth in IP revenues from residential customers and 2.9 percent sequential growth.

October 22
Verizon FiOS (NYSE: VZ) Verizon added 131,000 net new FiOS TV connections in the third-quarter of 2011, bringing its overall total to 4 million FiOS TV connections. FiOS TV penetration was 31 percent, up from 27 percent at the end of third-quarter 2010. With the clearing of FiOS installation backlogs caused by the storms and strike, Verizon expects to add at least 200,000 FiOS Internet and 200,000 FiOS TV customers in fourth-quarter 2011. FiOS consumer retail revenues represent nearly 60 percent of total consumer revenues.

SureWest Communications (Nasdaq: SURW)
SureWest reported revenue of $63 million in the quarter, up from $61.1 million a year ago. Net income for the quarter was $643,000, down from $1.4 million in the same period last year. The telco reported it had added 800 net customers from the previous quarter to bring its total subscriber numbers to 64,900. SureWest has shown some erosion in penetration for its IPTV service, standing at 22.5 percent.

CenturyLink (NYSE: CTL)
CenturyLink's operating revenues more than doubled to $10.7 billion from $5.3 billion for the same period in 2010.The company does not break out specific numbers about its IPTV service, but the service provider reported that it saw about 70 percent of its Prism TV customers subscribing to a triple play voice, video and data bundle.

Frontier Communications (NYSE: FTR)
Frontier Communications reported Q3 net of was $20.4 million or $0.02 per share, down from $29.0 million in Q3 2010. The company added 2,300 new video customers during the third quarter of 2011, a figure that includes a net loss of 9,900 FiOS video customers. Frontier had a total of 556,600 video customers as of the end of September.

Cincinnati Bell (NYSE: CBB)    
Cincinnati Bell's reported net income of $17.6 million, or 7 cents a share, a 21 percent increase Q3 2010. It continues to find new subscribers for its Fioptics entertainment service, adding 4,000 customers during the quarter. Buoyed by the debut of its IPTV service, the telco passed 25,000 additional homes and businesses with Fioptics during the quarter, bringing the total number of units passed to 115,000. By the end of Q4 2011, wireline expects to pass about 25,000 additional units.

Consolidated Communications (Nasdaq: CNSL)    
Consolidated Communications generated $92.5 million in revenue this quarter. As of September 30, 2011, the company has 32,981 IPTV subscribers, an increase of 18 percent more the 27,953 it had in the same period last year. The number of IPTV homes passed was 211,495, with a penetration rate of homes passed of 16 percent.

TDS Telecom (NYSE: TDS)
TDS Telecom reported operating revenues increased 4 percent to $210.8 million, while operating income rose 2 percent to $25.2 million. From a bundled perspective, ILEC triple play penetration via its relationship with satellite video provider Dish Network increased to 28.5 percent from 24.6 percent. In Q3, TDS Telecom added 2,600 net triple play subscribers, bringing customer penetration to 28 percent.

NTELOS (Nasdaq: NTLS)
Wireline operating revenues for the third quarter 2011 were $49.5 million compared to $33.8 million for third quarter 2010, reflecting contributions of FiberNet results. During the second and third quarters of 2011, NTELOS wireline expanded Metro Ethernet and IP-based services into 29 new market areas in West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland. Wholesale revenues continued gains, as cell sites with fiber increased by 23, to $9.4 million during the third quarter 2011.

Warwick Valley Telephone (Nasdaq: WWVY)    
Warwick Valley's third quarter revenues increased 9 percent over the prior year. Most notably, the company acquired Alteva, LLC, a UC provider. Operating revenues for the nine-month period ended September 30, 2011 increased by $621,000 or 3% to $18,818,000 from $18,197,000 during the same period in 2010. This increase was due primarily to the consolidation of results from Alteva, an increase in DIRECTV revenue, and increased wholesale services revenue, partially offset by decreased traditional telecommunications revenue and customers.
