Allen Media Group scores carriage of 3 networks on Cox Contour TV

Byron Allen’s Allen Media Group reached a carriage deal with Cox Communications, adding three AMG networks to the Cox Contour TV lineup across the country.

The networks include JusticeCentral.TV, focused on court shows and legal news, Recipe.TV, dedicated to chefs, recipes and global cuisine, and Comedy.TV, featuring comedians with live concert performances, variety shows, sitcoms and movies.

The networks are already distributed by major providers including Comcast, DirecTV, Charter, Dish, and Verizon Fios. With new distribution from Cox, the networks will now reach millions of additional subscribers located across 18 states. Cox's Contour TV product is available in key markets such as New Orleans, San Diego, Phoenix and Las Vegas. JusticeCentral.TV and Recipe.TV are now live, while Comedy.TV will launch on Cox in August.

Allen, founder and CEO of Allen Media Group, called the agreement “another major step in the continued expansion” of the three TV networks.

“We greatly appreciate the entire Cox Communications team for recognizing the value of these entertaining, informative, and engaging television networks, and we look forward to a long relationship with Cox Communications for years to come," Allen said in a statement.

Suzanne Fenwick, SVP of content acquisition at Cox, said the operator was delighted to add the new networks, noting its priority “is to add new, fresh content to keep our customers engaged and entertained.”

AMG owns 27 ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX network affiliate broadcast TV stations in 21 U.S. markets and 12 24-hour HD TV networks serving nearly 220 million subscribers. It’s launching a thirteenth network, The Weather Channel en Espanol this year.

The company also owns the Weather Channel TV network and Local Now streaming service, which it acquired in 2018.

In March of 2022, AMG sued Nielsen seeking monetary damages in the billions, alleging the company provided it with unreliable ratings for some of its networks.
