FuboTV reveals fall TV lineup for Fubo Sports

Fubo Sports Network, FuboTV’s sports-focused linear channel, unveiled Tuesday its content lineup for the fall season, including two new original series.

The first is the football-focused talk show “Airing it Out with Housh and Scandrick,” hosted by NFL veterans T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Orlando Scandrick. Fubo will air a preview episode of the show on September 6 at 7 p.m. ET, before fully premiering the show on September 12 at 12 p.m. ET.

Viewers will also be able to tune into the new series via YouTube. Fubo Sports will stream episodes live to its YouTube channel every Monday, before airing them the next day on the linear network – a first for a Fubo Sports series.

The other new series on Fubo Sports’ slate is “The Young Person Basketball Podcast with R.J. Hampton,” a combined TV show and podcast that gives a behind-the-scenes look into the lives of professional basketball players. That series will premiere October 23.

Returning Fubo Sports series include the second season of “Getcha Popcorn Ready with T.O. and Hatch” and the third season of “No Chill with Gilbert Arenas.”

“Our roster of Fubo Sports Network originals continues to grow as we bring the voice of the athlete to audiences wherever they consume content,” stated Pamela Duckworth, head of Fubo Sports Network and original programming at FuboTV.

“As the line blurs between athletes in the game and behind the mic, we’re building a space for sports stars turned content creators to share their first-hand experiences and insights with our audience of enthusiastic fans,” she continued.

Aside from YouTube, Fubo Sports Network is available on smart TV platforms like LG, Samsung TV Plus, Roku and Vizio as well as on “Sports on Tubi,” Tubi’s collection of linear sports channels.

Fubo is focusing on promoting its sports content to compete with cable. Speaking at Fubo’s investor day earlier this month, chief business officer Henry Ahn said Fubo’s goal is to differentiate its sports offering with interactive features and other entertainment to make viewers stick around.

Fubo in June launched “pick’ems,” free-to-play games where viewers can predict game outcomes in real-time. These features fall in line with Fubo’s plans to further integrate sports betting onto its platform.

Fubo however recently placed its Sportsbook business under strategic review, opting to seek out a partnership rather than building it out on its own.

The company has also said it wants its sports betting platform to stand out from the competition, with features like “timely betting.” It allows viewers to make real-time bets that are reactive to an event.

Content-wise, Fubo last week added five Cinedigm FAST channels to its service. Earlier this month, the virtual MVPD launched Sportsgrid, a channel with content dedicated to sports wagering.
