Breezeline turns up its Stream TV service in PA, NY

Cable operator Breezeline has expanded the distribution of its IPTV service – Breezeline Stream TV – to 11 markets across Pennsylvania and New York.

The Android TV-based service is now live for Breezeline internet customers in 10 Pennsylvania cities as well as in Salamanca, New York. Breezeline also plans to launch Stream TV in Berwick, Pocono and Schuylkill, Pennsylvania later this month.

Breezeline Stream TV combines live TV channels with on-demand features and streaming apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and HBO Max. The service touts up to 300 hours of Cloud DVR Max memory for recording, along with voice control capabilities via Google Assistant.

Breezeline subscribers can download the Stream TV app on Apple’s App Store or on Google Play, though customers must already have the Stream TV Box installed in their homes before they attempt to use the app on other devices. The service also works on Apple TV and Fire TVs, and Breezeline has indicated it plans to eventually launch Stream TV on Android TV devices.

“It is the most innovative, feature-rich TV viewing platform available today, but is also incredibly easy to use,” stated Heather McCallion, Breezeline’s VP of products and programming.

Breezeline Stream TV first launched in January 2022 in New Hampshire. Since then, Breezeline has also rolled out the service in Maine, West Virginia, Florida and Ohio. The company recently introduced an equivalent streaming app for businesses.

Breezeline’s Stream TV app leverages Vecima Network’s IPTV delivery product, which is built with TiVo technology. Xperi has touted the reach of TiVo’s IPTV base, which ended 2022 with 1.2 million subscriber households.

Speaking on the company’s Q4 earnings call, Xperi CEO Jon Kirchner said the TiVo IPTV platform is generating approximately $40 million in revenue per year. Xperi expects IPTV revenue to “more than double” to over $100 million in the next three years.

TiVo is also focusing on building out its smart TV OS, which will debut on TV sets later this year. The company has lined up a number of OEMs that will integrate the TiVo OS, with European smart TV maker Vestel to be the first customer.
